Allow me to illustrate with a few typical cases involving a few of my clients.
One client of mine was six months into his new practice. He was utilizing a "pay for the year up front" package with his patients and, unfortunately, he was not very successful at "closing" new patients. This doctor purchased my LAASR Mastery Course, and by the end of the five-week course, he had increased his "closing rate" by 40%! However, what was more important to him was he was now able to sleep at night again because no longer relied on fear and manipulation, or what I call "patient scare tactics," to "close" new patients. Instead, he became quite comfortable with using truth and empowerment or what I call "patient care tactics," and his practice literally took off in no time at all!
Another doctor who took my course could never get his patients to commit to more than three visits up front. I got him up to 12, but when he tried 24, his close rate crashed. His goal was to sell a one-year plan, consisting of 80 visits. Within one week, he increased his one-year, 80 visit plan by a whopping 70% – and the other 30% signed up for 24 visits. Another doctor also took my L.A.A.S.R. Mastery Course and did personal coaching with me. I helped him to understand how he could build and maintain relationships with his patients, while communicating chiropractic’s simple truths. I helped him to redefine himself as the chiropractor he was and to clean up his belief systems.
As he began to make some simple changes in his practice, his patients started to refer to him like never before. She was getting great results and her patients loved her, but they didn’t stay around long enough to get any of the "real changes" she felt they were capable of, and there never seemed to be enough new patients. She was feeling burnt out and lacked any excitement at all when it came time to drag herself into the office.
She was ready for a change, she just didn’t know what to do or where to turn.
After our initial meeting and consultation, I developed an understanding of her basic behavioral style. I offered to her one simple idea. She implemented this one simple idea in her practice the following week. The week after that, she called me, right before our next session; just to tell me about the incredible changes that had already occurred.
She realized that she was no longer leaving her office at the end of each day feeling tired and worn out. She was actually excited to get up and get back into her office every morning as well. One of my doctors decided to set up an outside talk and signed up 53 people who expressed an interest in attending. Twenty three showed up. Of those 23, 22 came to the office for an evaluation and all of them signed up for care. His case average is about $2700. Not such a bad night!
But… we were not happy with the show rate, which was only 43% of the number who originally committed. I spent 5 minutes with his staff to discover what they had done to encourage those people to show up to the talk. We LITERALLY CHANGED TWO WORDS and when they scheduled the next class, 32 called to register and 29 actually showed up!! This was now a 90% show rate – NOT BAD for changing only two words!
It has always been my experience that what we need is an excited, inspired, on purpose, and motivated staff. We hire and train our very own dream team, get the team to carry the doctor on their shoulders, work together as well-greased machine… and success is ours for the taking!
One of my other clients is a fairly well-known D.C., on the lecture circuit. He was always very busy, with precious little time in the day to do the things he really wanted to do.
His beautiful wife runs the office like a pro, but they still had a few difficulties. We helped them to build the infrastructure through systematizing and automating their office. We introduced the idea of making their office a problem-free zone, where the doctor literally does not have to think. Within a matter of four coaching sessions with both the doctor and the wife/office manager, their office was running more smoothly than either of them was ever able to imagine.
Nearly all of the doctors I work with have some type of incongruence that keeps them from achieving the success they so desperately want and deserve!
Usually one of the first tasks we complete is my course titled, "The Importance of Certainty".
