Or, do they say, "How can I get myself and my family in to see you as soon as possible?" If they are say the former, you are like Cicero. If they are say the latter, you are like Demosthenes.

When I discuss how to do a successful health care talk with doctors, I discuss the concept of Problem, Reaction, Solution and a Call to Arms. I ask them "What problem do you have to help your patients to understand so they will be moved into action?" Across the board, doctors reply that the problem is the Subluxation, or the health of the spine.

And I agree - that is exactly what Cicero would talk about! But... if Demosthenes were giving the talk, the subluxation would not be the problem... the subluxation would be the solution! You see Demosthenes would realize that first, he would need to speak to the people about something they care about and then he could tell them what he wanted them to know about, in this case, the subluxation.

The classic story I hear from chiropractors is, "I used to do health care talks but I stopped because I felt like a salesperson. I felt like a huckster, nobody referred and hardly anyone ever came in anyway." It is my experience that most chiropractors are talking like Cicero, and if I were getting the same response, personally I wouldn't do talks either!
