Develop Vs. Grow

Definitions

Develop

to become more mature and more organized.

Grow

to increase in size or quantity.

Comparisons

more able vs. more

Example: A business might grow very quickly and take on more clients, more contracts, and more debt. If it doesn’t develop new systems, new approaches, and new strategies, that rapid growth could actually destroy the company.

Key Point:

Benefit: At least 10% of the time you devote to growth should be spent developing yourself to handle more growth.

Dr. Rosen’s Comments:

One of my pet peeves is management companies getting doctors to go out and bring in lots of new patients from a screening, or talk etc. but the doctor does not have the infrastructure to handle the increased load. Inevitably the doctor loses most of the patients in the first month of two and the roller coaster plummets towards the ground at 120 m.p.h. Take the time to develop systems and strategies. Build your infrastructure and "automatize." See the article entitled "problem free life."
