Buff Vs. Excellence

Definitions

Buff

a personal sense of what works perfectly for you.

Excellence

a state of having great merit or quality.

Comparisons

custom designed vs. well designed

Example: The meal at the restaurant was excellent: the ingredients were fresh, well prepared, and well presented. Nick’s meal was buff because the three appetizers he’d ordered were not only excellent, they provided exactly the taste, textures, and amount of food he most wanted.

Key Point: Buff is excellence combined with personal style. Excellence is great, but when you add your stamp to it, it becomes an expression of you, not just something that is up to agreed upon standards.

Benefit: There’s little point in having something excellent if it doesn’t delight your soul.

Dr. Rosen’s Comments:

Make sure that every thought, word, deed and action has your personal stamp on it. Make sure that every interaction you and your staff have with your patients inclucing your scripts you use during consultation/examination, R.O.F., daily interactions etc. are yours and are completely congruent with what you believe. (Consider taking the L.A.A.S.R. your communications and be brilliant at the basics course.) Make sure that the practice of your dreams, is the practice of your dreams.
